When you sit by the water,
Toes grazing the icy grey
And drop a single stone into its broken face
Hoping to make something miraculous.
Suddenly the ripple is alone.
Making a change in the sea.
Slowly
Pushing away from companionship,
And left
Lonely and fading in the sunshine.
