Our Slipping Sands

Our slipping sands of time,
Separating at the foot of an incline,
And with each step into the East,
We find another key unlocking the beast.

And as our self-promoting Atlas stands,
A chip falls from their shoulder into the sands,
And with each step into the East,
We find another key unlocking the beast.

An armed delivery of youthful joy,
Torn to bits by the sons of Troy,
And with each step into the East,
We find another key unlocking the beast.

As our peaceful message falls from the sky,
The acrimonious demons draw closer nigh,
And with each step into the East,
We find another key unlocking the beast.

When the crowds call for the final hour,
Their chosen friend is stripped of power,
And with each step into the East,
We find another key unlocking the beast.

But as the day of reckoning arrives,
I need not look but to the skies,
And in seeing that resplendent face,
Dear Father, with me do please embrace.

Wow... no words. In the best way possible. I loved this. And I'm going to favorite it.

...one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love....I love...I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on. -Mr. Darcy

I love your poetry - I especially love how each poem is either inspired by or about Jesus.  It's really refreshing to read a poem about the power of spirituality. This is one of your most powerful poems, in my opinion!
