HOW TO SELL YOUR CAR ON CRAIGSLIST

To start with,
MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IN THE AD HEADING IS CAPITALIZED.
MAYBE EVEN BOLD FACED.
Don't include the price in the heading.
Put up the four best pictures you have of it
even if they were taken 7 years ago.
Use phrases such as "runs smooth", "low low miles", "good condition"
even if there are actually 200,000 miles on it
and the paint has seen better days.
Include that the engine and/or tranny was rebuilt 50k ago,
omit that it was done by your cousin's step brother and his friend in their garage
and that no, you don’t have the paperwork for it but you trust them.
Let's say it needs something,
like a new water pump, serpentine belt or brake pads.
Write, "New water pump, belt and brake pads just put in"
even if you don't intend to call your mechanic until someone calls you first.
Omit that the AC needs a recharge or compressor or Freon,
because then no one will call.
If you tell them on the phone,
then they've already called, and might still buy it.
Always state a price that’s 4 to 8 hundred more than what you'd be willing to take
but not a thousand more cuz people will know you're bluffing.
Remember,
"4500 OBO" actually means "I'll take way less than 4500 for this car"
and "4500 FIRM" means "I don't really want to sell this car"
if your car comes in different trims
do NOT state which one it is
unless its something obvious in the picture like T-tops.
Do not include any good picture of the interior except maybe the steering wheel.
If it’s a car that everyone wants with manual transmission
like a 240sx, Honda Prelude, Acura Integra, or a Supra
definitely neglect that you got the automatic version made for chumps.
Lastly, don't bother checking for grammer, spelling or clarity
because,
rule of rules
Ambiguity is your best friend.
