In the colored homes of crabs
But when I held them to my ear
I swear I heard the sound of laughter

I like this a lot. As ThatBlondGuy said, short and sweet. Great topic, too. Good job! Keep writing!

Please read, rate, and comment on my poems! Thanks!

Hey, I love it! Short and sweet. The ending is what pulls it off because the reader is expecting "the sound of waves." Instead we get "the sound of laughter."
