Because I am a Girl

September 25, 2010
Because I am a Girl I can't wear some things without being called a s***.
Because I am a Girl my gender will never be respected as much as men.
Because I am a Girl I am looked at as an object.
Because I am a Girl I have to fear rape and abudction because females are viewed as the weaker sex.
Because I am a Girl I am expected to live as a housewife at some point in my life.
Because I am a Girl I have to hear crude jokes about Women's Rights.
Because I am a Girl I will go through the pain of childbirth.
But Because I am a Girl I will be able to experience the joy of having a living thing grow and become whole inside me.
Because I am a Girl I have a chance to show them what Women's Rights can do.
Because I am a Girl I can raise a family and care for them.
Because I am a Girl I can support my future family by getting a stable, substantial job.
Because I am a Girl I can fight back and show the world that I am not scared.
Because I am a Girl I can use my mind to show I am not an object.
Because I am a Girl I can earn my own respect.
Because I am a Girl I can present myself as a beautiful human being where I don't care if other people try to bring me down with words.
