Losing others is gradual
Like blindness
The petals of the last rose
Fell slowly
And vanished
A lone candle light
flickered, went out
Another fight for life
Lost
Even the strongest oak
Can fall
Even a gazillion dollars
Can be spent
Holding life out at arm’s length
like newsprint
Like a fragile petal
So very easily
Lost
So
leave room
for hope
