You don't know what we've been through
You don't know what we have to do
All our pain and tears hidden from view
Everything we have to lose
Everything we have to prove
To you.
You don't know what life is like
Days at the gym drift to nights
Tumbling over a four-inch beam
Shooting for and missing our dreams
Swinging high on wooden bars
Our hands are bleeding but we move on
Every muscle aches all day
Our commitment's a high price to pay
Everyone says we should
I guess gymnasts are just
Misunderstood.
