Soda down my throat

A glacier slid in
the grip of my palm.
I tilted my head
as if to watch the stars.
Aluminum brushed the base
of my lips.
Acid ran down
the back of my throat.
Flavor danced on the tip
of my tongue.
Fizz bursted like
it was the fourth of July.
I swallowed
and sighed.
I went to the fridge
for yet another.
A glacier slid in
the grip of my palm.
