Destructive Peace

Lying here,
Waiting for sleep,
Hoping for peace.

Crying here,
Screams in my head,
Down in one breath.

Fighting here,
Begging for change,
Decisions are made.

Losing here,
No more to take,
Hands that do shake.

Falling here,
Must escape now,
Wait and I'll drown.

From bottle,
To hand.
One look,
To mouth.

Peace at last.
