In the grass you and I lie
Lazily we gaze upon the blue expansion of sky, no cloud in sight
Only the sun, wind, and light weave in and out our hair.
Its cool and inviting lying here beside you hand
in hand, lips to neck,
Cheek to cheek, lips upon lips, careful kisses fill the air.
They make me feel light as a feather slowly floating toward heaven
Overpowering my thoughts, they bring warmth to my pale cheeks.
My body is possessed by your light touch
Caressing my every curve
Gentle fingers smooth my dark hair only radiant in the sun’s light
As I rest my head against your chest and let your
Whispers fill my ear with absolute delight
You say to me
“Can we capture this moment and live it each day? Never move
Forward or back but be lost in today and only today?”
“Oh my love” I whisper back to him
my finger traces his pink rose lips, soft as velvet against skin
“If only we could but that wouldn’t be a life worth living it would only be a fantasy
without movement or growth, how would our love increase and bloom
if we didn’t move forward with each new day?
All we can do simply is enjoy this moment and make it stretch for many more
summer days to come.”

I recently watched an english movie entitle" Bright Star" based on the life of the poet John Keats and his life in Britain and his love for Franny. I thought this poem might interpret their love for eachother. Enjoy!
