Hard to Hold

It was hard to hold I
when you spat in my face
Long gone since the new you came around
and stood on my sternum.
It was deadly yo hold love
which was the stitch in my head
from where I'd cram it all in
not wanting to miss anything.
It was hard to hold you
So I chewed my tongue and soak my eyes while yours were closed.
It was hard to let go.
