Goodbye
My face feels wet as I say goodbye
I pause
And I look to the sky
Searching for some misty haze
As justification
To my shiny wet face
He kisses me lightly
And pulls me in
Holding me ever so tightly
Those three words slide off his tongue
Through my ears and down to my heart
Who cares if he’s young
Who cares about his past
The bond we share
There’s no way it can’t last
So I swallow my silent tears
And glue on my smile
As I watch him disappear
