I'm nothing but hate and loathing
Bits of flesh and kerosene
Burning with a passion
For the life of the serene
I've ripped apart the rule books
Carved my hate into my skin
Torn down those around me
Only to hide what's within
I'm nothing if not angry
Clear as much as confused
In all I have failed miserably
By my own mind been abused
Trapping myself in my own web
Spun through my own lies
Separating me from myself
Ignoring my own cries
I needed help
I wanted none
So now you see
What I've become
I'm the essence of disbelieving
While seeing it all plain
Drowned myself from the inside out
Because I had the power to make it rain

While I appreciate that someone else knows what I've felt like, I hope it's not all the time that you feel like this. This particular poem was a huge catharsis after which I began a much-needed recovery process. As awful as I had felt, I was able to build back from the hole I had fallen into and get back to enjoying my life the way I should. It's definitely a process, but it's a worthwhile one.
