Home Is Where the Heart Is
Says the teacher to the class
And one shall always see their true self
Through the looking glass

Home is where the heart is
And where one is their self
Where truth and fact are part of the air
And there is no need for stealth

Home is where the heart is
Out in the open, it is cloaked
Covered in layers of the latest trends
Covered up in a hoax

Home is where the heart is
Where sweatpants and old shirts are praised
While dresses and suits hide in dark closet racks
And virtuous, natural people are raised

Home is where the heart is
Where one feels safest and complete
But when not at home they are different
It is someone else the outsiders meet

Home is where the heart is
And as ties grow closer, another heart catches a glance
Of what the heart is like inside
And decides if it should take a chance

Home is where the heart is
Says the teacher to the class
And one shall always see their true self
Through the looking glass
