She didn’t lie
And tell me I wasn’t
Fat
Or that I was beautiful
Or some stupid
Bull crap.

She just said that
People were wrong
To make me feel like a loser.

And that no one
Should try to make me
Something I’m not.

She really wasn’t trying
To change me.

And that’s why -
She did.
