Blind

There is an elephant in the room.
I see it, you do not.
It takes up too much room,
Leaving me hardly room to breathe.
You breathe freely.
Leaving me hardly room to live.
You live freely.

There is an elephant in the room.
I feel it, you do not.
It takes up too much room,
Leaving me hardly room to move.
You move easily.
Leaving me hardly room to think.
You think easily.

There is an elephant in the room.
I live with it, you do not.
It burdens me,
Leaving me hardly room to dream.
You dream nicely.
Leaving me hardly room to grow.
You grow nicely.

There is an elephant in the room.
It crushes me, not you.
It ruins me, not you.
But you have your own elephant.
You do not need mine.
I carry mine, you carry yours.

They are our burdens.
They are our strength.
