Pearly Pink Balloon

Pearly pink balloon
Floats
Lazily
In the corner
Of my vigilant eye
A shameless distraction
From the small text
Lying on the table.

Pearly pink balloon
Composed,
But not alert
The world its domain

Every time
I say to myself

Just this once

For
That devious balloon
That kite of cotton candy
Decides
To sway
Midair,
Its ribbon gently ensnaring me
And luring me astray
And taking me
Away, away

Pearly pink balloon
Smirks at me from above
I grit my teeth
(To cage my grin?)
To say my exasperation

Pearly, pink balloon
By that
Inexhaustible hand
Guides me to
A far-off soil.
A land
Where the sky
Blinks with perfection
Until morning
Snaps me up
No more
Away, away

And I allow
A quiet groan

Pearly pink balloon
Your
Unadulterated
Luminescence
Can drift off

Away, away
