Alaskan Wind

My heart whispers into the wind,

“What will I ever do without you?”
The Alaskan chill bites at me,

And my ears sting red from the cold.
I can’t hold on much longer,

The time for goodbyes has come.
Your smile is as fake as they get,

Yet you hide who you truly are quite well.
You promised things would never get physical,

But the last thing I saw was your fist aimed at my face.
I was addicted to the way you made me feel,

No I’m just ready for the night to end.
My heart whispers into the wind one last time,

“How could I have ever been so blind?”

things are only as dark as you make them.
there is always beauty in every situation. look for it and you will see.
smile; sometimes it's all that will keep you from crying.

I... feel as if I have experienced this. Great job : )
