Art is a passion.
Like a voice waiting to be heard,
you say it with style

A few words may be untold.
Look very closely;
they will pop out

Words as tender and pure as mind.
But wait, it's a picture.
Can you see it?

Can you see what the image is saying;
the language it speaks?
It's like writing.

Expressions trying to escape the portrait;
trying to reach out minds
trying to speak up.
Can you hear it?

Art is a voice
waiting to be heard.
Listen.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem when I was in seventh grade. What inspired me to write this poem is people who dont know how to escape. Some people in the society today as they did back then dont know how to open up. I see people all around me doing the same things with their lives everyday and they dont realise that all they have to do is listen up to the world around them. There's so much going on in the world and nobody catches onto it. They overlook all the wonderful things in life; kind of like the way they overlook the beauty to a portrait.
