assuming "you" is "i" etc, etc

when you're heartbroken, you don't care what color the sky is
or whether your cereal tastes better with milk or cold water.
everything hurts.
when you're heartbroken, you can do your daily hundred
and not feel any stronger than you did this morning,
sitting in bed,
wallowing.
everything hurts.
when you're heartbroken, your body floats,
surreal and
nonexistent, like the broken cassettes
whizzing in the back of your head.
everything hurts.
when you're heartbroken, the punching bag
becomes more than just an enemy-
it is a manifestation of you
being bruised into place,
training for the next round, when
everything,
everything hurts.
