The Fire and Ice Game

You hear the crowd cheering,
Rising and falling,
You see your breath before you,
Cloudy and heavy,
Your skates glide across the beautiful ice,
Cold and smooth,
The adrenaline rush takes over; the hunger; the need.
You’ve never felt happier or stronger,
Because this is all you know.
All you want.
The game is fire and ice to you.
The drive is your fire,
And your world is on ice.
The whistle blows,
And as you take the puck,
You know you’re in control.
