I Am Not Perfect
I am flawed
And I wondered why
You would ever choose someone
As flawed
As me.
We were almost in love
And it almost came close
To almost being perfect.
You were almost the one.
I was almost strong.
I almost didn't give in.
But then I did.
I got my punishment
And I almost hated myself.
I almost hurt you again.
I almost couldn't resist.
I almost ripped apart that heart
That it took two years to repair.
I almost told you that I wished you wouldn't leave.
I almost said, "I almost care."
I almost kissed you before
I almost had to go.
And I'm almost sickened
When I look at what I've become
With almost a soul.
Now that I have him
I watch you grovel in my footsteps
And I wonder why
You would ever choose someone
As flawed
As me.
