A Sewer Kind of Life

drip drip
tick tick tick
this sewer music’s
making me sick
the crickets sing
the rats moan
i have a banana peel
for a telephone
fish for dinner,
trash for lunch
this wholesome meal
packs a punch
at least I’ll get thinner
with this measly dinner
for recreation
in this underground station
i sniff glue
wouldn’t you?
