What hurts me more
Than any words could ever stab
Straight through my ribcage and out my back
Is that which goes unsaid
How could you push me up past the clouds
And then let me fall
Further than I’d been before?
I don’t think you even saw
As I lost my footing
I screamed your name
But you turned a deaf ear
Like it was me who was to blame
My once sweet dreams evolve into nightmares
That I can’t remove from my mind
I swear to never rise again
But I forget such promises in time.
