Darwinism

Am i weak because i cry
and let my emotions run free
Am i a fool because i hope
that the world can change for me
Am i careless because I protect
those few people i hold close

You think I'll fall or lose my mind
whichever comes first
that i have no chance at moving
forward, and keeping on my feet
that the rain will wash me out
or the wind will blow me away

If only you could see me now
trudging through this endless road
with my head held high in pride
while you lay exhausted and worn
