Miss Independent
People look at me
What do they see?
Just a girl trying to look pretty
Making the guys look and see just a pretty face
No, I am independent
Miss Independent
Loving and caring person inside me
Helping others when in need
But others don’t see that in me
that’s where they are wrong
I’m strong
Yes, I am independent
Miss Independent
Even at times my OWN friends
Tell me,
You are really as stupid as you look
Seeing them laugh at me
When all I try to do is learn
Waiting for that question to be answered
Makes me believe
Yes, I am independent
Miss Independent
They don’t see the other side of me
A bright intelligent me
I try my best to succeed there for I will achieve
yes I do slack off and cause trouble
Yet I ask myself
Is this the real me?
No, I am independent
Miss Independent
So now you see who I’ve become to be
You might not see it until you meet the real me
Who said you can’t have beauty and brains
I say you can have both
I don’t use negativity to bring me down
I use strength to cover it out
Locked out from my fears
Waiting for the right moment to say
Yes, I am independent
Miss Independent
