Forgive and Forget

There comes a time when you must stand alone
You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams
There were many who had led a path to a better life for you
And then those who wanted you to fail
Life came at you in many different directions and people stared
At least, that’s what you had thought
You are different in this world
Different in just the way your mind isn’t the same as the person standing in any direction of you
You didn’t follow those who denied the truth, though you didn’t do everything correct
You are not perfect
Neither is the person in any direction of you
Insecurity brought the worst out of you
The only good you got out of it was the attention
Your uncontrollable desire
Words soon became your enemy when they turned against you
But you started to change
It was time you grew up into someone you wanted to become
And not those who wanted you to fail
Release your flaws and say who you are
There’s a time you must stand alone…
But I shall not stand in someone else's shadow when it's your sunlight that should lead the way

I’m forgiving
Even if you were that person who wished me to fail, convinced yourself wrong was right, and chose to speak cruel words.
You made me someone else, someone better
