broken bow,
how the water
is blue.
Whisper why,
flutter-by
why the grass
is green.
Whisper when,
little wren,
when the wind
does blow.
Whisper what?
A paper-cut,
what is the
scarlet blood?
Whisper where,
here or there,
where the war
never goes.
And whisper now,
to tell me how,
how the world
broke in two.
