Looking at you

I see my past

My childhood
I see that blue

Two story house

I grew up in
I see the blue cement

Rap-around porch

Tattooed with daisies
I see that old

Corn field laid

Between are houses
I see us all you, me

And everyone we knew

Walking down that dirt

Road, surrounded by

Those tad-pole ponds
Looking at you

I see my past

My childhood

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem my freshmen year in High School. I wrote it about my faded childhood friends. Brody and Tyler were my best friends but Brody passed on and Tyler and I stopped talking and it just hurt to look at him everyday and see the childhood I had and how the evidence of it is slowly fading away into the dark half of the universe.
