I reach towards the doorknob
Silence
I slither to the shelf
Sliding
My finger across wood
Searching
For an attractive book
Stopping
I grasp the old binding
Squatting
Gently into the chair
Silence
I open the ancient book
Serenity


The author's comments:
I wrote this because once you open a book it seems to take you away. To a different place. A book is a place to escape to, that is how I always look at a book.
