Because of You

I could never see why
You thought I was worth so much
When I felt like I was nothing
Why you always told me that I was beautiful
When I never saw it
You were always so much better than me
Always just being
You.
Because that’s all you needed to be
I always felt like I needed to have people like me
And always put on an act
Always hide who I truly was
But because of you
I now know that it’s not true
I am who I am
And that’s all I need to be
Me.
