Once, long ago
There were failures waiting in the cupboards
And the computer monitor flickered
The water ran browner
Rose shaded glasses
Were more expensive

The economy was an empty market (use of paradoxes)
Politics was struggling on the soap box
Religion couldn’t find its way back
Rebellion was bored
And
Getting decent grades

Once, long ago
Things must have been worse
Moved slower, been less productive
People must have struggled
To find art and organized machines
Of any kind at all

Now we’re all at the top
We’ve got the most expensive and fashionable
Everythings
And luxuries make terrible
Love stories
