Summer, Please Hurry Up and Get Here
Summer Please Hurry Up & Get Here
I hate being stuck inside,
Locked in unable to escape,
Only to stare out the window,
To see the birds fly free,
To see the sun wink at you,
Saying- “Come out and enjoy the day,
For I may not be here another day”,
But you sit there helpless,
Unable to leave,
I daydream and wait,
I wait for freedom,
Summer, hurry up and get here.
I dream of the day when,
I’m able to escape,
Open the door and leave,
To walk out; never to return,
To Drive to the lake,
And enjoy every minute of soaking up the sun,
Relaxing, closing your eyes, then to
Jump into the water,
And Push in your friends,
They’ll get you back,
Ugh, I can’t wait,
Oh, summer please Hurry Up and get here!
