a Child imagines a guarded ice-castle
from where the wind blows cold
the small, folded hands project faith
a prayer goes out to God

from where the wind blows cold
a Youth can smell the rain
a memorized prayer goes out to God
it is the norm of their world

a youth says they can smell the rain
the Raisin in the rocking chair doesn't care
He doesn't care for the norm of the world
Experience has given him knowledge of All and he goes to Bed, Forgotten

The author's comments:
This poem relates how people loose their childlike faith as they gain knowledge of the world around them. In the end, they have forgotten God and in return He has forgotten them.
