The Cold

May 20, 2010
Outside my frosty window pane,
snowflakes flutter like blue-white flames.
The wind blows through the barren branches,
of tall oak trees and small door latches.
It comes to me like a small pale ghost,
whispering around my thin shoulders.
I wrap my arms tighter still,
to escape from the cold that so fondly chills.
