Broken, lost, and left behind,
soon to be forgotten
by those that say they never will.

Oh how fragile is life,
A bubble of glass!
A simple reminder
That nothing good can last.

The author's comments:
I began to write this as a response to the deaths of my peers loved ones.Several years ago there were a string of unrelated deaths among my school community. After hearing the new of these deaths I pondered my own life and began to reflect on how fragile it really was. It seems dismal now, but reflects perfectly the feelings of loss and mortality myself and many others experienced.
