The Unknown

I play my part in this large world
With demons around me steering me wrong
I grip tight to the wheel
Try not to let go
As the water around me is but a whirl
As it tries to conceal me in its unknown
Keep my grip and do not slip
Or I feel only more pain
I struggle and push until I can not persist
The waters conceal me and pull me in
Into a blanket that is not what I had feared
But warmth and comfort after all of the years
As I look back on the past
I see it was not all that bad
But the fear of unknowing kept me from getting ahead
