It may be hard now, but in the end everything will be perfect.

Momma walked her down the isle
Lifted her veil
Gave her a kiss and sat back down on that bench.
Those two love birds exchanged their vowels
Looked into each others eyes
Said ‘I do!’
Everything just seemed to melt away.

Few hours later
All was left in stone
Their chariot awaited them in that hot summer sun.
She ran to her momma
Wrapped her in a big ol’ hug
Looked into her eyes and saw her past go by.

When she was just a little girl
She always seemed to say
“Momma look at me now! All these scratches!
All these bruises! What boy will ever take me as his own?”
Her momma shook her head and whispered down to her lil girl
“Baby girl you don’t know what your saying.
Your to beautiful for your own good. I promise you this,
There will be that boy, he will love you and take you to be his princess.”

Without a word said
That woman looked straight into her baby girl’s eyes
And whispered like she did
“Baby girl your beautiful. I promised this.
Now you’re his princess and he’s your prince.
You have everything you ever wanted.”
She braced her momma tightly and cried out loud,
“I love you momma now and forever.
I still remember those long summer nights
On that old back porch. Talked about boys
And all those things I thought weren’t quite true.”

Weeks have passed
Maybe even months
She loves him so much and misses her hero,
Little does she know her mommas doing fine on her own
All she’s missing is her baby girl.

She ran to the phone
Dialed up that old number she calls every Sunday afternoon,
She’s expecting a baby girl,
One to call her lil baby forever like had her momma had.
Her loves late at work and she don’t have anyone to cry to,
Her mommas there when ever she needs but maybe
All she does is remember her childhood days.

When she was just a little girl
She always seemed to say
“Momma look at me now! All these scratches!
All these bruises! What boy will ever take me as his own?”
Her momma shook her head and whispered down to her lil girl
“Baby girl you don’t know what your saying.
Your to beautiful for your own good. I promise you this,
There will be that boy, he will love you and take you to be his princess.”

Next thing she knew
Her baby girl is running around the back yard.
It’s a Sunday afternoon and the suns out today
Momma’s there to see her baby girls.
She’s never been so proud of her before,
Then the baby starts crying saying
“Momma look at me now! All these scratches!
All these bruises! What boy will ever take me as his own?”
She just shook her head and looked around
And said
“Baby girl I was just like you and here’s what your grandma told me.
‘Baby girl you don’t know what your saying.
Your to beautiful for your own good. I promise you this,
There will be that boy, he will love you and take you to be his princess’
And yes this applies to you too”

When she was just a little girl
She always seemed to say
“Momma look at me now!”
