Ignorance is Bliss

Here we are,
Frauds to ourselves,
Living up to an illusion,
Created by society,
A society,
That glorifies “perfection”
Shuns individuality,
We are the rats,
That run into the trap
Expecting reward,
A sense of accomplishment
Self fulfillment,
We obtain the opposite;
Insecurity,
Fear,
Worthlessness,
Until,
Gradually,
It engulfs us,
Surrounding us,
Eventually destroying
The once content connection,
The equilibrium,
That preserved the confidence we held;
That was now taken away,
To never return...
Ignorance is bliss.
