Guilty

It sits there
and stares at me
with no eyes
covered in dust
faded and
dull

It sits there
and begs me
only
It can’t beg

It sits there
and makes me feel guilty
even though
It does nothing

i sit there
with nothing to do
but i still
try to ignore it
silently shifting my sorrow-filled gaze

i sit there
and hear my promise
“i will practice everyday”

i sit there
and try to look away
but it sticks out
from the pink walls

It sits there
and stares at me
with no eyes

The author's comments:
This is about my guitar. I promised my dad that I would practice everyday, but I couldn't keep the promise. Everyday I see the guitar and feel guilty that I couldn't keep my promise.
