White heart burnt by her love
For him
She had hope
She had hope like God
But like a million scribbled apologies
It wasn’t enough
So she walked away
And pulled the ashes from her shell
And him
He went home to his solitude
And his illusion filled drug
She too had her own drug
But of a different kind
Hers was sharp and it made her
Bleed
But like his it allowed an illusion
A fake happiness, a fake hope in
Him
