The Thrill of Victory
I step up to the plate,
the moon shining upon my face.
I am out to prove the doubters wrong.
They said I couldn’t,
but now I did,
and there is only one tiny flicker of doubt.
That one little piece of me,
that listens to the haters,
saying that I can’t,
I won’t,
and that I never will.
But then I remember,
I am the master of my destiny,
and nobody but me
can change that.
I’ve come this far,
and I’m here to leave my mark,
As I step up to the plate.
