he is a wanderer
caught somewhere between
lost and found
where it’s always
raining.
the map tucked into his
back pocket is
soaked through,
a puddle of interstate highways-
alphabet soup
served on a flat world.
he gives humanity
two thumbs up
but it’s much too busy
to pull over and
offer him a lift.
