The refracted light glimmers on the blue green surface.
Making the fish wonder what is above.
Cold wet and full of life, it makes me wonder.
What do the fish think when they see the swaying of the weeds.
Do they see the hypnosis of it?
Or do they see it as a hiding place from bigger fish?
Light refracting through the murky water makes the life shine.
It is cold down here.
The reeds seem to reach for the warmth of the sun.
They can never reach it, cursed to forever sway.
Light refracting through the murky water makes the life shine.
It is wet down here.
My foot squishes in the oily mud.
Think of the life living in the mud alone.
How many living things does my foot touch?
How many lives does my foot change?
Probably not that many, the stuff in the mud is probably used to it.
Light refracting through the murky water makes the life shine.
Fish part to let me swim past.
Neither of us can imagine what the other is thinking.
