She was There
April 21, 2010
I called her that scary, warm night.
Crying into the phone.
She was asking what was wrong.
"HE'S DEAD! HE'S DEAD!"
Was all I could say.
The next thing I knew she was right there.
Letting me cry on her shoulder.
Whispering he was okay now.
He wasn't hurting anymore.
Time came to lie him in the grave.
I screamed, not wanting to let go.
My dad pulled my away, saying it's okay.
My mom has kept from crying.
As they covered him up, I wanted to scream.
Wanted him to be alive.
Wanted him back.
I knew it wouldn't happen though.
I cry as I look back to that scary, warm night.
