From the outside a girl unbroken
Laden with pieces of gold
Friends who loved her, wanted her soul
Who knew that she could be the one to unfold.
A boy with a fire inside of him
To go out and conquer the world
Around him a life provided
Who knew that he could be the one to unfold.
She whispered her eager plea to him
As his answer would be untold
Through the night his fire burned within
And she held her frame up so.
Some day maybe they would meet again
Ponder on their lives so far
But this age of being held more for them
As his touch could burn and her words could have him end up alone.
For a while she seemed so fond of him
With a smile that brushed his side
But he couldn’t be what she had seemed to be so.
One day her friends betrayed her
And his life was cut off short
For she never regained that strength within
Because he couldn’t be there to kindle it
His passion that sparked a flame though in
Time she realized his soul
Had been empty from the beginning, no way to control.
Her eyes that sunk deep into the skin
His hand that graced her throat
Her crescent of breast in the palm of his hand
So gently his lips whispered “love”
To have this bond, I think, would be more
Than I have ever known.
