What Is a Lifetime?

Is a lifetime
measured in sighs?
If it is,
I have lived a million years.

Is a lifetime
measured in love?
If it is,
I have lived a few short moments.

Is a lifetime
measured in broken promises?
If it is,
I have lived so incredibly long.

Is a lifetime
measured in happiness?
If it is,
I have lived an average life.

Maybe a lifetime
is measured in strength
to go through another day.
For when that strength has expired,
so has your will to live.
