When you turn off the lights at night
And I'm engulfed in a static-y darkness
I drown under the sheets
And in my dreams...
Dreams of you running through my body with your fluttering mane
While I,
Stuck, and silently screaming your name,
stand behind a glass wall.
Shaking, and holding myself as i rip apart on the inside.
And finally understanding the word "despair"
As I watch you
Gallop
Away.
And all i have left of you is this dream.

BUT:
In the mornings, the light brings you back to me and I warmly feel your breath on my face
Once again I can smile!
and I know that your heart is tangled, beating with mine.

This is a piece written about my amazing gypsy vanner draft, Foster. Who had to be put down in March of 2010. I loved that horse more than myself, and still kiss his picture that's under my pillow goodnight before I go to sleep. I wrote this one night when i was missing him a lot. R.I.P. Foster, you'll always be loved.

- I thought it was symbolic, that the first picture that popped up on the options.. was of two gypsy vanners.
