Thank you, for teaching me
Life's hardest lesson
When I was barely toilet-trained.
Thank you, for showing me
That to survive, truly,
I must kill myself-
Shut off every part
Of me that dares to
Feel.
Thank you, for challenging me
Testing me with
"Grown-up stuff" before I was five.
Thank you, for trusting me
With a secret so ugly
I can't stand myself-
Let alone try to let
Someone else love
Me.
Thank you, for forcing me
To every day look at
Myself, ruined and hopeless.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
