It sears me
Cuts me deeper than
A double-edged sword
It burns me
Hotter than the fires
Of a thousand suns
It kills me
Slowly, surely, certainly
As cancer spreading
It hurts me
I won't let you see
But look at my scars
Those on the outside-
That's not
The least of them
It numbs me
I give it up-everything
My hopes, my fears, my dreams.
Nothing matters,
Except the thing
That never stops
Never relents.
